Nothing to Sneeze At: Tea helps with your Allergies

Greetings tea students. I know we have talked about the health benefits of tea (especially green tea) quite a bit, but we speak about it at such length because it seems every day new health benefits are being discovered.

And today, as the fall weather starts to set in, and the temperature starts to change, it is possible that you might find yourself sniffling a bit. The weather changes affect many peoples’ bodies. So it is an excellent time for me to inform you that tea can help your allergies.

You see, tea is high in minerals like copper, iron and potassium, calcium, fluoride, zinc, manganese, and others. This means that many health aspects of your body that don’t normal y have everything they need to function well are able to better fight off germs.

A recent study in Japan found a that one of the basic components of green tea that blocks a key cell receptor involved in producing an allergic response.

“Green tea appears to be a promising source for effective anti-allergenic agents,” said the study’s chief investigator  ”If you have allergies, you should consider drinking it.”

In addition, rooibos tea is chock extremely full of healthy ingredients that help strengthen the body against allergies, not to mention magnesium (for the nervous system), and alpha-hydroxy (for healthy skin). And don’t forget that rooibos is naturally caffeine free.

In short, drink enough green tea and rooibos tea and you won’t spend so much on tissues.
