A Tale of Two Teas
Hi Loves,
Guess what!? Today is my birthday! Thanks for the happy birthday wishes. I’m proud to say I’m officially (shushsmum) years old. What? A lady never tells. Of course, my family and friends have come through like champs and showered me with love and gifts. And of course that includes tea!
Now I have a problem, though. Which to drink first? My wonderful friend Suzie gives the best tea gifts, as you’ve already read, and she presented me with a fine box of herbal chamomile loose tea. You can never go wrong with the classics. And my lovely mother sent me a selection of black tea bags, because she knows sometimes I need my tea on the go. But where to start?
Since it’s getting late, I probably shouldn’t drink the caffeinated black tea. I do want to get a good night’s sleep tonight, but the chocolate truffle blend mom sent is calling my name. Plus, black teas do have great health benefits. These teas are chock full of antioxidant rich flavonoids and some studies have shown that black tea is awesome for your heart.
Of course, chamomile has no caffeine, and really does wonders to help me unwind after a long, hard day. Plus herbal teas can aid in digestion, ease anxiety and insomnia, and even boost your immune system. As the winter closes in, I know I’ll need a little boost to ward off the sniffles!
I think the chamomile herbal tea has won. Time to brew a cuppa hot tea and cozy up with a good book. Ah, what a nice end to a happy birthday.
OX and Tea,
Tia
