In the Pink: Throw a Pink Tea Party!
What’s up you guys! Jasmine here to talk to you about something very important. It’s not about tea. Well, it is, but it’s not just about that. it is about tea, and it is about tea parties. But most of all, it’s about breast cancer.
See, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And one of the types of fundraisers people are having that I’ve been reading about are Pink Tea Parties. So I want to encourage you guys to throw a Pink Tea Party for Breast Cancer!
Um, I’m not saying throw a tea party in HONOR of breast cancer, obviously. But if you hold a special event, and ask for donations there, and everybody’s all dressed up and having delicious tea, then why wouldn’t they be in the giving mood? RIght?!?
But what is a pink tea party, you ask. I’ll tell you. A pink tea party is an old-school party that gained popularity back in the late 1800′s and became popular again in the 1930′s or so. And it’s exactly what it sounds like. Everyone dresses up in pink gowns, and long gloves, and ribbons in their hair, and has some really colorful, and even the cookies, or scones, or whatever you have with the tea is pink! Berries, pink icing, whatever it takes. You get the idea.
So I’m thinking, organize something among your friends, or at your work, or church. get your social circle together, dress up real nice, get yourself a nice rooibos tea, like Lemon and Roses Tea, which will be about the right color. Or you could go with green tea, which has been proven to help fight cancer, which is the REAL theme, if you get down to it. Then throw a little party! It’s fun to dress up, enjoy some tea, and have a party. And it’s for a good cause!
Heck, you and your friends might enjoy it so much you could keep doing it even AFTER Breast Cancer Awareness Month is over!
