A Celebratory Cup of Tea to President-Elect Obama

You put your tea in there.

(You put your tea in there.)

Well, I’d say you’ve done it now. This morning with my morning tea, (I’m sure you don’t have to wonder what kind of tea it as at this point…and if you do, well shame shame!), I notice that you’ve gone and elected (the word is such a strange one to me!) yourself a new President. Good for you.

i also noticed that it’s the one people were calling “elitist” because he drank a fancy tea. Which if faithful readers of this tea blog will know, I protested this label vigorously. Or at least as vigorously as I protest anything without starting a war. So I’m glad you decided not to discount the man based on his eating and drinking preferences.

So I suggest you start celebrating your future. Perhaps send your new leader a nice gift. In the spirit of your national colors, I think a nice rooibos tea would be appropriate. It’s called red tea after all. The apple mango tea has some other colors in there that might be taken in low light as blue. Amanzi has great prices on tea, as well, so you won’t be hurting your pocketbook all that much in what I know must be trying economic times for you right now.

Just a suggestion of course. I’m only thinking of the feelings of the new Lord of the Manor, er, I mean President. It’s just the way I think.
