Tea: It’s called gratitude

The sexy world of tea.

The sexy world of tea.

Hello again, lovers of tea. We meet again.

As this uniquely American holiday creeps closer, and I try to decide where I will brew my Thanksgiving morning tea (i of course have many invitations), I thought I might allow myself to get a bit more in the spirit by professing unto you the thing that I am most thankful for.

Of course I am most thankful for tea. That is obvious, and would not even be worth writing to tell you. You would assume this. So barring my extreme love of all things tea related, here is what I will be thanking the Puritans for this Thursday.

When I first came to this country, I was extremely alone. I found my way to a college town called Greenville, SC. It was a cool evening, and I stopped in to a place called Tea Junction. The place was swarming with tea lovers like myself. They had every blend of tea, made perfectly. But more importantly, on that day, there were several young ladies who did not know much about tea, and were eager to hear more of my extensive tea knowledge.

I have been to many tea shoppes since — and tea lounges, tearooms, and every other kind of teahouse. And I am never lonely for long, my friends.

And that is what I I am thankful for.
