About the Amanzi Tea Experts

The Earl of Grey

The Earl of GreyThere are many myths and legends about the Earl of Grey, many of which seem to have been started by him personally. It is difficult to separate fact from fiction in his biography, especially considering that his legacy is maintained by his most trusted servant, Henry.

He was the only son of Charles Grey, 7th Earl of Kent, and was thus the 8th Earl of Kent. He served in the military for many years, where he is said to have won more wars than he started. It is said that Charles was renowned for his ability to hold a sword over his head while mounted on a horse, making for a truly breathtaking portrait.

It is reported that The Earl of Grey has superhuman strength, infinite wisdom, and a witheringly mean look of disapproval. He has credited himself as inventing the wheel, creating the written word, and discovering tea. Some of these claims have been disputed, but not by anyone under his command and always behind his obscenely wealthy back.

He boasts to have great sway over most people, some cats and all horses. Once known to have the most extravagant horse and carriage in the whole of Earldom, the Earl now drives a Ferrari, and can be seen playing polo, foxhunting, and cruelly mocking the less tea savvy of the world.

Jasmine Spice

Jasmine SpiceJasmine established herself from an early age as something of a tea wunderkind. She loved to drink herbal teas as a baby and advanced to green tea at age two. She learned to read at age three, and immediately began researching tea practices, history, and customs. By age six she was turning her rattles into homemade tea infusers, and by nine, she wouldn’t let her mother make her tea for her, saying she was “a sucky brewer.”

Jasmine graduated first in her class with a degree in Loose Leaf Organics from Tea University. She has since gone on to pursue her Masters in Far Eastern and Assamic Tea Studies. She is currently writing her thesis and continues to give tea lectures around the world.

Master Amanzi

Master AmanziRaised a poor youth in a rural village in the politically charged “Tea Zone.” Amanzi’s village was dominated by corrupt warlords. When he came of age, Amanzi rose up against his oppressors and beseeched his fellow villagers to “Resist the bullies! Fight with your lives! Keep the tea leaves dry!” The local warlords did not approve and tensions rose, culminating in the mysterious disappearance of his parents and favorite tea cozy.

Vowing revenge, Amanzi trained with a secretive order of monks, who taught him to be the greatest warrior in the lowland tea fields. After years of intense battles in his village, he realized there was a better way. He was moved to give up violence and took up the Way of the Tea—a new method of meditation that involved much peaceful reflection and plenty of hot tea. IN this way a treaty was reached, and the village is now a peaceful one.

Master Amanzi founded his own monastery high in the mountains. Together with his faithful manservant Oolong, he brings peace and self-awareness, along with a truly amazing cup of tea, to all who seek him.

Teato Flavio

Mr. TeaFrom the sun drenched beaches of Athens, Greece Teato Flavio was one of many street urchins left to die on the mean streets of the city. Knowing nothing of his parents, Teato was forced to fight to survive living on his passion and keen sense of smell. It was this olfactory gift that led Teato to his saving grace. Tea.

One fine summer day, while quietly dying of hunger in an alley, Teato was leapt upon by a scent he had never known before. The odor led him away from the filth he was lying in to the filth of a small, decaying shed across from him, wherein Master Amanzi was hovering over a small decanter of tea made from locally grown herbs.

Teato learned that Master Amanzi had been traveling the earth, sampling tea and gaining enlightenment. He also learned how lonely Master Amanzi had become and was taken in as a young padawan to the aging monk. During their travels Teato learned much about tea as well as being trained to fight and love his fellow man.

When Teato’s training was complete he chose to leave the wandering lifestyle and strike out on his own path. For years he worked as a mercenary for hire, a guide in the hills of Peru, a presidential body guard… But he was never satisfied. He missed the tea, the tea that brought him strength and understanding.

Currently, Teato is a Master Tea Sommelier for the finest resorts and luxury casinos in the world. He has written nine books about tea, and a four book set of poetry titled, “My Heart Steeps in Your Eyes”.
