A Teaspoon of Wisdom

Tea Students;

You have all grown so much in these past few months under my Tea tutelage. I am quite proud of how far you’ve come. When I first met you, you didn’t know a tea leaf from a bay leaf, or the difference between loose tea and a loose knot. Why, you still thought tea was just a letter in the alphabet! Ha! We laugh about it now. But it was quite pathetic.

I wanted to tell you about an old expression relating to tea, that you will perhaps find enlightening. It is quite deep. And it has come into the popular spotlight quite recently, so now is a good time to enlighten you.

You put your tea in there.

(You put your tea in there.)

Well, I’d say you’ve done it now. This morning with my morning tea, (I’m sure you don’t have to wonder what kind of tea it as at this point…and if you do, well shame shame!), I notice that you’ve gone and elected (the word is such a strange one to me!) yourself a new President. Good for you.

i also noticed that it’s the one people were calling “elitist” because he drank a fancy tea. Which if faithful readers of this tea blog will know, I protested this label vigorously. Or at least as vigorously as I protest anything without starting a war. So I’m glad you decided not to discount the man based on his eating and drinking preferences.

What’s up guys! Today, after a long day of meetings and briefings (but there never seem to be any brief meetings, ha ha), nothing sounds better to me than a nice, soothing cup of tea. you know how soothing a cup of tea can be–everyone knows about the relaxing properties of a delicious tea at the end of the day.

But you know how it is. You’re tired, you don’t want to bother,  It takes time and precision to make the perfect cup of tea, and you don’t want to take the time. You just want it to show up in your hand, perfectly brewed and ready to go!

Well mabe soon, that will be possible! Check out this video about a robot that makes tea!

Now THAT’S service! I can’t wait till I can come home one day, kick off my shoes, and immediately enjoy a cup of refreshing Green Tea. NIce!

Tea Ceremony to be held at Harrikyu Gardens

Tea Ceremony to be held at Hamarikyu Gardens

Oh my diligent tea students, I am feeling quite nostalgic as I sip my organic oolong tea. The strong aroma does take me back to my younger days, and thought I continue to feel young due to the almost magical effects of tea. But that’s not what I am talking about. You see, coming up in Japan, some tea houses are going to hold what cold be the largest tea ceremony ever.

On October 25 and 26, in Hamarikyu Gardens in the Chuo Ward will play host to a ceremony that will be celebrated by something like 8,000 people. 8,000 people will be taking tea, being a part of the Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony. This is quite an amazing thing, tea students. I should not have to tell you that.

What’s up you guys! Jasmine here to talk to you about something very important. It’s not about tea. Well, it is, but it’s not just about that. it is about tea, and it is about tea parties. But most of all, it’s about breast cancer.

Tea for Two

Hi Loves,

Since Jasmine Spice taught me how to share videos with you, I just had to pass along this great clip that Mr. Great Tea Date sent me this week. I nearly spilled my full cup of Oolong Loose Leaf Tea I was so excited to see this. On our date, I happened to mention that I seriously love Doris Day. Who doesn’t? She’s the queen of the perfectly polite insult, of looking fabulous at all times, and getting the guy with her wondrous charm. Why were we talking about Doris Day on a tea ceremony date? Hey tea lovers!

I don’t know about you, but as I wake up every morning with a hot cup of Irish Breakfast Tea, I like to stroll around on the internet, seeing what’s in the news of the day, what new cute thing some kitty cat did, or if there are any brand spanking new health benefits discovered about my favorite thing the world–tea.

Well, today when I booted up my laptop, I saw something I hadn’t noticed before! Those cute little Apple ads have one talking about tea! Specifically the soothing benefits of tea. It seems that people who have computers need the comfort of a nice cup of tea as much as the rest of us!

Check it out!!

Hey guys! I know we tea lovers like to talk about the perfect way to make tea, and how you should always use loose leaf tea, and all that jazz. Obviously, we are bigtime tea drinkers and want it to be perfect. And we want your cup of tea to be perfect too!

But the reality might be that you can’t always use loose leaf tea. That your supermarket doesn’t carry organic tea. That your tea infuser broke. Whatever the reason, sometimes you have to improvise. And we understand!

Earl of Grey goes Hollywood!

Hullo common tea lovers. I’ve once again idly thought of a reason to tarry with you once again. As I was verbally abusing my servant for making hot tea when it’s still quite warm outside and iced tea would be much more pleasant (don’t worry about him, he’s used to it, it’s for his own good), I noticed that the telly was advertising for a new film.

It seems to be called “The Duchess,” and it purports to be about Georgina Cavendish–a close personal friend of mine from way back, as I’m sure I don’t have to tell you. If there’s one thing you ex-colonists can’t get enough of, it’s British History, am I right?
