Milk in Tea: The Debate Rages On

Hey there, Tea People!

Are you having fun reading about tea? The health benefits of tea, the different kinds of loose teas, how long to leave your tea bags in—all that stuff? Those guys seem to know what they’re talking about. I’d listen to them.

I’ve got a little something different for you. Those other stuffed shirts might like to talk about how tea is made, and the difference between white tea and black tea, loose leaf tea vs. tea bags, or whatever. Well, all I care about is how good the tea tastes.

I’m not saying hot tea isn’t already delicious. I like it as much as the next girl, of course. But sometimes, I want a little something extra. So today I’m going to tell you a little bit about something I put into my tea sometimes—milk.

Iced Tea—it’s what’s for dinner.

All right, so that slogan has already been taken; but no one will argue that in this hot weather, it is important to have a nice glass of iced tea. It cools the body while stimulating the mind. It will certainly be the most popular drink of choice at all your summer shindigs.

Chances are that you’ve had a glass of iced tea before. We are not on Mars. But I know good tea—iced or otherwise—and it is my whim to alert you to some of my favorite ways of brewing come delicious iced tea.

Adding Extra Flavor to Your Tea

Recently I told you guys about the ins and outs of adding milk to your tea. But as everybody knows, there’s a lot more options than that! For many years, tea makers have added fruit and herbs to their tea blends. But sometimes, you want to add a little something yourself. Well I’ve got a couple of tea tips to help you out.

Naturally, there’s no limit to what you can put into a cup of tea. Cinnamon, mint, blueberries, strawberries…you name it—the possibilities are endless.  So I’m just going to stick with the most common ones for today.

Hey Tea Lovers! Jasmine here, coming to you from the hallowed halls of my alma mater, good old Tea U.

I was noticing today that all the fast food joints on the quad seem to sell a LOT of soda. So as I sit here sipping from my thermos of iced tea (Apple Mango herbal tea, to be exact—mmm!), I thought I might take a moment to point out that tea isn’t just for incredibly old fogies like the Earl of Grey or Master Amanzi. With all the health benefits of tea coming out these days, and increase in availability of different tea options, tea is becoming more popular than ever!

I thought you should know that  young people don’t all want to drink hot tub-sized cups of super sweet, overly caffeinated soda. It’s just not good for you. And those that do, well, they’re probably already hopped up on sugar to be rational. So I wanted to tell you a little bit about what to look for when you get tea for your kids.
