Hey guys!
Jetting home to see the fam in just a bit. I’ve packed all my important stuff — changes of clothes, jacket, my favorite kinds of tea that I just can’t live without, and my favorite teapot (cause it’s just not tea if it’s not coming from my favorite pot!) But as I sit here sipping my last cup of yerba mate before I head to the airport, I t thought I would take a minute to take a deep breath and remember what the holiday is all about.

Hi Loves,
My friend Suzie stopped by last night with a surprise for me. (Don’t you just love it when that happens?) She’s been reading Tea Talk and she said she just had to come over and dish about my date. And, of course, dish we did.
But her surprise? A new kind of tea that I’d heard a lot about, but had never tried: Yerba Mate! Did you know that Yerba Mate is considered the tea of friendship? Neither did I. Did I mention I’ve got awesome, smart friends?

Part 6: Yerba Tea
As you all continue your journey down the Path of the Perfect Pot of Tea, I, Master Amanzi hope to guide you with my vast knowledge of the Way of Tea.
We have already dealt with the four kinds of actual tea: white tea, green tea, oolong tea, and black tea. We have also discussed rooibos tea. This brings us to another cousin of the tea family: Yerba Tea.
Yerba tea, also called mate, is a Central American drink that is made from a type of holly plant that grows in that region. Because yerba isn’t made from tea leaves it’s not considered tea, but is prepared in the same way and is often served as an option in tea circles.
